Milgram experiment showed that as long as an authority figure says it's the right thing to do, people will do very villainous things to one another, even when they know it is wrong. A LOT of people will not stand up to authority figures.

Some other things you should take away from the Milgram experiments are that 35-40% of people did stand up to the authority figures and refuse.

We should also remember that in that situation, it was one person alone standing up to people who purported to have the moral authority to override the lone individual's conscience. That's why it's so important in the real world to be vocal about what is right, so you can reinforce the instincts of the good people to follow what their gut tells them is right and not trust in the authority trying to override them.

Well, to be fair, it's not the best comparison.

The Gestapo were secret police. The SA (sometimes referred to as "brownshirts"), on the other hand, were just uniformed thugs and bullies whose main purpose was street intimidation.

I think it's clear that ICE are much more like the SA.
