Nursing crews are usually so tight because you go through so much shit together. The couple who are obviously crying break my heart, it must be so awful for them to lose a teammate and friend in such a callous and unnecessary way. RIP Alex

And so it's as important as ever to be active in the community and support your local cause to educate the masses on what each candidate truly represents, who backs them, and what their past actions show. In addition to driving voter turnout for all federal, statewide, and local elections.
The following groups provide opportunities to participate in local events, voter education, and increase voter turnout.
https://indivisible.org/get-involved/
- National grassroots organization with local chapters in many counties/cities of every state. Focused on voter education and turnout from local elections to federal elections.
https://nextgenamerica.org/fight-back/
- Nationwide organization focused on voter education and turnout among the younger half of the population.
- Grassroots organization focused on veterans/veteran family members, their stories, and voter education and turnout among this demographic.
- Provides templates and structured ways to call your local and state representatives, and leave them detailed information on what you would like to see as their constituents.
https://www.taskforcebutler.org/
- Veteran led nonprofit dedicated to the protection of all Americans, their right to protest and vote freely, and the investigation and prosecution of individuals and groups that oppress American rights and values.
Find upcoming events that can help shape our future:
Hopefully people will consider joining at least one group and taking action. We need more people participating in shaping our futures. Feel free to copy and share the links.

I hate to be rude but jsyk it’s having the “gall” not “Gaul.”
Gaul refers to areas in Western Europe which were inhabited by Celtic tribes in the 5th century. ☺️

ICE absolutely needs to be abolished and replaced by an immigration enforcement agency that actually respects human life and the rule of law.
Democrats are being far too cowardly on this issue--especially here in Kentucky, where the default line is "there needs to be an investigation."

I think because we are seeing so much violence, some people aren't able to assess the ripple effect of these senseless murders. Imagine working with someone one day and the next day, they are gone forever. That messes you up for a long time. Even if you weren't close friends with them or related to them. A person is just...gone.

Last year, 3 coworkers retired from my place of employment. All in good health and leaving on their own volition and in good terms, but knowing that they won’t be a part of my daily life really messed me up. I can’t imagine what this workplace is experiencing after something so violent and senseless

Every single ice agent needs to be held accountable. The leadership should meet their end at the gallows. Not enough Nazis or confederate traitors were hanged after their reigns of terror. I hope we don’t make the same mistake. Again.

He really had one of those faces that looked so kind and friendly. I bet he was a great nurse. I really feel for these people; I’m also a nurse and you really bond with your work family, esp on intense floors like ICU.

I am so heartbroken over this; Alex was a friend of a friend, and I have just been reading more and more about how great of a human being that he seemed like. He was a hundred million times more essential to this world than worthless ICE thugs.

I feel like this is a private moment that speaks louder than words. It must be so difficult losing such a selfless colleague to immeasurable hate.

Not to mention, most of the people in this room had to take an oath and pledge their “duty to treat”; I can’t imagine them having to witness and forcibly sit through something brutally absurd that they’re absolutely sworn to avoid at all costs. It’s like having to betray one’s own immediate reflexes. Tragic. Beyond tragic.

As federal employees they also took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.

I work in a hospital and you have a special type of bond with your colleagues. Especially since we often work 4 on, 5 off, 12 hour shifts. You spend more time with them than your own family, and you witness traumatic things together. I just cannot fathom how they’re feeling. The worst people on earth are murdering the best people on earth. Alex seemed like such a kind, compassionate, empathetic person. What a loss for his family, community, colleagues and the world. I am so angry to put into words, but Alex’s life and others out observing and protesting remind me that there are lots of great people in the world. I log off because these Nazis are often the loudest voices. To smear this kind soul as a domestic terrorist sickens me. RIP, Alex. We must continue to tell the truth.

Alex, you were clearly so, so loved. This is really giving me so many feelings. 😭
I’m so angry at the lies that they tried to tell to justify murdering him, especially after he just saved someone /was protecting people. Because that’s what he knew, how to protect and care for people.

Seeing this broke my heart. Alex Pretti was murdered by untrained goons who have not an ounce of respect for human life and need to be held accountable for their illegal actions. ICE and the wanna-be dictator need to go now.

Everything I've read about Alex Pretti makes him seem like someone I would want to be friends with. I can't imagine what his actual friends and family must be going through, especially given the attempts by the fucking federal government to denigrate his character.
I hope his loved ones know that so many of us are seeing him through their eyes, not anyone else's, and we are grieving his loss alongside them.

u/Zero_Griever 3h ago
Republicans would be happy to detain any of these individuals through force, just because kt makes them look fucking awful.
That's the real threat people seem to be missing. Its about sending a message that they can execute anybody who opposes the brutality they're showing to civilians.
They desperately want to escalate to send in the military. Republicans, all Republicans have expressed their opinion through their votes.

Fuck ICE and everyone who supports them in any way. They are murderers. Alex was murdered in cold blood on the street by our government for the crime of simply being in proximity to ICE. We need to shut this the fuck down NOW.

This is just so sad, I’m heartbroken for everyone who knew him. There was absolutely no justification for this. ICE is a terrorist organization and every single one of these “agents” should be held accountable for this murder.
I’ve never been more ashamed to be American. Rest in peace, Alex
