discussion Why do people always call artists performative after speaking out on a political issue?
There are so many music artists that I see speak out on various issues like Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, billie Ellish etc and I find it really brave of them to do this as something that could be controversial but then it’s still important for them to spread awareness about minorities group or wrongdoings when it comes to leaders.
As someone who does enjoy listening to Taylor Swift’s music, I’m someone who thinks she could speak out for others since she has a big platform and I think could make impacts if she posted about actions that can help people or donations that will help. In history, we have seen her speak out and encourage people to participate in politics and it seems to have bought more youths into these situations so why can’t it be done again? Btw I’m not saying that she could be maga or anything because she did endorse Kamala Harris in the last election I know that and I follow her but I think it’s a valid criticism that can be made across without being a hater and maybe a valid reason why it’s not that easy.
Btw I’m not American but I just wanted to hear different opinions about this in a respectful way. I find everything going on to be extremely scary and it’s like seeing different fandoms fighting over this situation when they should be glad a celebrity spoke out instead of calling it performative. I follow all these artists as well, I might not listen to them that much but there is one thing I respect and it’s them speaking out.

discussion Who's the big up and coming rock band?
I've always listen to artist who became big before I was even born and I was curious who is kind of the new modern up-and-coming rock band that will kind of last to the ages. Like who's the new Nirvana or the Beatles or something to that level?
I know rock has taken a bit of a backseat to other genres like hip hop and rap but I was just wondering in the world of rock and roll which is the next band that's slowly becoming big and Will probably be talked about like Nirvana and the Beatles are today?
